We love to run in freedom
as we were born to do
But as it turns out
Many of us live with you
Some of our lives
Are pretty okay
But sadly many of us
Don’t live that way
Some humans beat us
Mistreat us
Do not adequately feed us
Please people we are living beings
With feelings and smarts
Please be kind and love us
From the depth of your hearts
