our blessings to be counted

do we

as we sit and contemplate a world forever altered

perhaps by man and by fate
do we hear other voices in the room
or are they drowned out by our
own gloom.
do we feel the heartbeats
of all on earth so dear
ALL the beings
who ALL belong here.

parrots4peace

peace here on earth as we reach for the stars!

parrots for peace.
no war,
no more.
no hate.
for love
we wait.
before it
is too late.

So goes the flowers

 So goes the flower

The earth revolves

The flower sits in the dirt

Or above the land

The world of hurt.

The buds push away

The flower no longer heard

Though it still bursts

With sound and word.

The flower ignored all it was told

But then it never thought it

Would grow

Old

Like a feather in the trees

Like a feather in the trees

Alone

Among the green

Grace in the process

 Grace in the process

As time ‘s kiss

Makes one weary

Flower looks like

 Flower looks like a turkey

Sometimes nature is quirky

The purple dragon

The purple dragon
Lives in the sky
she lives to play
she lives to fly
And though she admires
The world below,
she knows it is not
A safe place to go

how pretty

 how pretty our world

how far removed

from all the wicked

human grooves.

no twisted machinations here

just divine colors so

very clear.

clouded leopard

 clouded leopard

clouded leopard
ray of light
your beauty shines
all day and
night.

sunshine and creamsicle

these precious birds were my greeting committee as for fluids i would go

they sang so very sweetly, i often would think "they know"

my mom and dad would admire as they played and fed

and when in their little coconuts they would go and

rest their heads.

like me they were not healthy and required a lot of care

and care and love they found, in the best dr's office

anywhere.

then covid came and we could only see them from afar

my humans always asked and wondered how they are.

then the angels up in heaven, asked for four more wings

and up went one than the other.

such is the order of things.

we cried because we miss them and their joy they brought us all

now heaven is blessed to have them

but all who knew them miss them most

of all

the gate the healing

we stand across from an open gate

whose bars only bar

those that hate

we can choose to cross

this beckoning street

with peace and healing

at our feet.

choose love...as love chooses you!

hobbes

what is a friend

what does one say

when a dear friend

goes away.

there are no words that

can convey

the love and joy

you brought to each day.

and the pain we feel

without you,

today.

rest on angel wings, pretty kitty

Very query

Did you ever wonder how the world would be

If it were run by creatures other than we?

Helps us forget

That the world

Is a mess.

stupor beets

Although we dwell in this stage of decrepitude,
we have decided to embrace a happy attitude.
we started to imbibe these here powdered beets.
By fogeyitis we will not accept defeat.
As you can tell by this pic borrowed from my phone,
the taste is gross do not try this at home
gonna guzzle another glass at the end of this poem

the rise of fall

the rise of fall

as leaves cascade

oblivious to

our charade

the chaos that

we seem to stir

leaves floating by

seem to almost purr.

Fall leaves

Fall leaves are feathers from trees who cannot fly.

Big puff

Big puff does not worry about the cold

Nor think about growing old.

The last rose

The last rose slowly lowered her head

As autumn beckons her

To bed.

National Black Cat Day October 27

 we love to be kitties

we love to play

we are black cats

and this is our day

we are not fodder for

superstitions

nor familiars for spells

we are not halloween prank victims

as anyone with a heart and brain

can tell

so celebrate our feline grace and beauty.

after all, humans

that is  your duty!

by love

we are a moving entity. we sail from port to port, smoothly or battered about by the waves of circumstance. our voyage is one of fits and starts. pauses and repeats. the seas flourish as we traverse, in the glaring sun or behind the clouds of the moon.
it is love that guides. that star that shines brightly, or slips away.
beckoning, withdrawing, beckoning again.
by love
for love
with love
of love. ❤️❤🎢

 In the ponder of wander,

The restless mind

Seeks solace.

One of those daze

 Went to laundry room downstairs

To quickly do the wash

Ah my dreams of haste

So quickly quashed

Washing machine

I chose left me with

Wet clothes

After two hours of drying I fell

Laundry cart now squashed

The. Elevator needed service

Oh how I need a life cushier

And posh.

Silly

Puppies milled

puppies, milled
We live here in a puppy mill
It is winter now, and we are
So chilled
When summer comes the
Heat is very strong
Our fur gets matted,
It gets too long
We cannot breathe
We cannot see
we can only feel
our misery
please rescue us
please get us out
we are not human
so we cannot shout

Sing i

 I sing to the sky

The sun the clouds

The world below

Both soft and loud.

Monday, October 5, 2020

the time is never enough

 the time is never enough

the rhyme is always rough

the reason the heartbeats

the sounds i hear

so far away

you are not near

if i could set the clock

and redo

all the time i spent with you

more love upon you i

would pour

but now i cannot do

that

anymore

i miss you

kiss you

never dismiss you

i hope you know

i think you do

i did my best

so did you

our last moment

everlast

love is the power

never past.

i will never dig my way

out of this sad

but when i think

of the honor to know you

i am glad.

Sparroweye

 Sparroweye what do you see

As I look at you

Do you look

At me

About Me

My photo
greetings! i have managed to incorporate my eternal woodstock nation spirit with the high tech 21st century world. i am an artist/writer, who dabbles in rhyme, and, sometimes, reason. my passions are my husband, who is truly the wind that ruffles my sails, animals rights, yoga...waking up in the morning. i find inspiration in too many things to list, and far too many more to remember. sketching, watercolor painting, poetry and photography are my ways of expressing joy and gratitude. from living with a chronic illness, i have learned the beauty of each day, and treat each as another sun salutation, and another chance.
