berries like cherries

berries,
like cherries,
leaves like
cocoons.
do you howl
like a wolf
when you look
at the moon.

birdie in the snow

do you ever feel like
a little birdie,
alone in the snow.
blankness and
empty,
wherever you
want to go
at times this
we felt.
then the snow
starts to
melt.

harder to find

cold for us out here
looking for food,
but i do not mind.
a great friend
like you
is even harder
to find.
whatever the weather,
we are together.

often

we are often told
of that which makes
us,
but seldom prepared
for that which
breaks
us.

the whirled

the world it spins.
the world it roars.
the world excites
then sometimes
bores,
the word
entices
then sends
away
the world that
is
a
state of
play.

goats

goats love to laugh
the world has a
funny smell.
but what they are
laughing at,
exactly...
they will never tell.

in afterthought

in afterthought
before another
afterthought
begins.
waiting for the
ship that sails
the ocean
of
chagrin.

magic mikey a political animal, just beclaws....green party

i decides to enter politics
i tired of all the human
dirty tricks
my campaign slogan,
biting and sleek...
squawk softly and
carry a great big
beak.
i wills protect your
nest eggs
large and/or small,
feathers or not
the government
will not take it all.
quality health care
will never stop,
if you disagrees
on your head i will
plop.
i can out squawk donald
i smarter than hill
if you want honesty
in office,
i fits the bill.
so fly into the polling booths
and for me cast your
vote.
ciao for now
that all he wrote.

enough we say

enough we say
to ears oblivious
to our cries,
as more is piled
on a heap,
collapsing.

western ground parrot, grounded

we do not fly
there was never
a need.
now our world
has changed...
for us it is bad,
in deed.
we have no place to go,
we are chased and harassed.
if humans do not protect us
soon all our of our kind
will have passed.

the truth in the eyes of our companion animals has depth most humans could never hope to attain, and love pure without guile or pretense

we tigers have babies,
just like you.
they deserve a safe
world to grow up in,
too.

so very very,
to be a

so be careful
how you drive,
we want to
stay alive.

the ragged beauty of the indomitable spirit...repost

some of us have not had downy soft lives.
we have stumbles, not all of our own making.
some of our battle scars are within,
hidden to the eye, but visible to those
who can see our breaking hearts,
some of our wounds are all too apparent.
and there is no looking away.
do not pity us. we do not pity ourselves.
we are too busy living.
we are survivors, still here to do battle
with the torments from within,
and whatever life throws at us.
we are here to love,
and to be loved.
we have not given up nor will
we ever.
we look forward, feathers or no
feathers.
perfect, not in our outer trappings,
but in the ragged beauty of our
indomitable spirit.

courage has its own
magical embrace

cecil sunshine flowers and butterflies

cecil
sunshine
flowers and
butterflies.
in peace you rest
as the world cries.
a symbol of
all that is
sadly broken.
because of your death
that world has
most eloquently
spoken.
so sleep now in
sweet silence,
knowing that wherever
we go,
we move in your honor,
and this movement
continues
to
grow.

an eye in a bubble

do you see the world
through the eyes
of a bubble.

she paused

she paused,
then
stopped to listen
to the songs of the wind
that she pushed aside
when, as a child
she could hear the
leaves turn to
greet the
rain.

what

what you see
what you feel
what you hear
from your heart,
so real.

autumn black wolf winter white

autumn blackwolf
winter white
grace and perfection.
stealth and kindness.
polarities joined
by the heartsongs
they howl.

mist...repost

Mist

to those once with us,
who no longer remain,
we feel your loss,
and it causes pain.
but we know you are
in a place of peace,
with others, just like you,
whose troubles have ceased.
your tenure on earth
with us never enough,
yes we go on,
but at times it is rough.

tears on leaves

tears on leaves,
do you believe.
or nourishwaters
that fall,
to answer
the call.

oft gentle

often gentle her thoughts
as the world swirls around.
she fights for her balance
to hold her own ground.
to never let go of how
she wishes it would be,
so fast are the motions
sometimes made,
emptily.

changes...to honor david bowie

we are never still
from the moment
we are born.
we change with each
moment
and these moments
changes us.
we reach out
and are reached for.
we linger over
a mere second
while lifetimes
flash.
we never have enough
hellos.
but far too many
goodbyes.

komodo dragons
in your garden.

ivy intricate

ivy, intricate
looks around
nothing to
challenge her
nothing profound.
up and up
and up she grows
and only stops
where
heaven goes.

cat on the car

i did not choose to live this way
out in the elements
severe.
but here is where i am going
to stay.
all is so familiar here.
some humans bring me
water and food.
i cannot thank them
enough.
although i am used to
a life this free.
at times it is
really tough.

cat and rats

do you find it somewhat
bizarre or strange
that this is  how our
life is arranged.
do you think that
because we are
cat and rats
that our lives should
be lived as eternal
spat.
we demur and
disagree
because we believe
in love, trust and
harmony.

depression

depression sucks and the solitude it brings, and the misunderstandings and misgivings of others only adds to an already tragic soup.  if you suffer from this terrible affliction, as i and many others have and still do, reach out...and if you know someone hurting and in need, be there with open heart and open mind.

where but for the grace, we can all walk in these broken footsteps.

thank you♥

of this he is
absolutely

he has lived
his world
and will until
his final
