National puppy day

 We are puppies 

We are cute and fun 

We are a lot of work 

And not for everyone 

If you are ready

Many shelters are filled 

Perhaps one of us would 

Fit the bill

If not many older dogs 

Need and deserve homes 

Yes they do

They are puppies at heart 

(And if we are lucky 

We all get older, too)

So grab a ball or a frisbee 

Go out and play
