Saisons d’etre
Autumn turns, with gentle grace
Burnished hues, upon its face
Leaves cascading to the ground
Leaving trees, bare and brown
Winters chill, and austere beauty
White flakes abound, as is their duty
The earth grows cold, hard to the touch
Waiting for the spring it misses so much
Smiling spring arrives, welcoming soul
Soon all will thrive, no winter’s toll
Young life is born, in a verdant plane
Nurtured by the warm sun
and quenching rains
Then hot temperatures begin to rise
The summer sun, filled with surprise
Its soaring birds, its gleeful trees
A rush of life, then autumn breeze

- i am a river
- droplets
- our world once a garden
- i have seen
- monday landed
- do you know
- breathe
- i clasp my hands
- saisons d'etre
- drawing a blank
- a time like this
- terra luna
- stranded
- a tear
- my most recently published poem
- to all of those
- i sing
- blessed hearts
- earth
- the spoken word
- for footprints
- before
- i feel the wolf
- a frightened young pelican
- nature's child
- humans
- do you
- my soul is aching
- for
- i have no room for guile
- a summer prayer
- spill
- heartsight
- dear earthlings
- i dreamed i was a butterfly
- the summer reign
- summer rain
- to you

About Me
- karen lyons kalmenson
- I am a proud senior, forever hippie, who has incorporated the peace and love vibe into the technosphere of the 21st century. Gratitude and love of all beings is what I live for and how I live. My husband and I are guardians of pteribird in heaven and magic Mikey a special needs senior parrot, whose intelligence and love is beautiful and humbling. Blessings
