life is good.
my people treat me
exactly as they should.
they love me, play with
me, feed me well.
i am one happy baby,
as you can tell.
there is another place.
a lush, warm garden,
a jungle space.
but my parents were
born here,
my grandparents, too.
this is my life,
this what i do.
no predators to chase me
i am almost never
caged in.
though not in freedom,
i wear a big parrot grin
