We used to take our Mikey to the vet 3 times a week for fluids, usually on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And at times, 4 times a week. We tried 5 visits but that did not improve his worsening kidney values. Our little hero was an inspiration. Our feathered overlord knew the drill but liked to make us work for it. Sweet reminders of who was the boss. How we miss you, little one ❤️💚🦜🪶🌈

Time heals at times slowly. Our babies move into our hearts and lives and when they pass, the emptiness and silence is deafening. All we who mourn and grieve can do is go through the process and try to focus on when our babies were happy and healthy. We feel lost without our loved one(s) but are trying to cope with the changes, one day at a time. we reach a state of "okay" but this "okay" is not the same as the one we felt when our loved one was still with us. love is life. life is love. love is beautiful. love is loss. love is everything.

❤️happy Friday❤️ And wear red day! February is national heart month and February 6th is wear red day, to raise awareness of women’s cardiovascular health. On April 9th of 2021, I was hospitalized for a near fatal heart infection. I had open heart surgery on April 16th, when my condition stabilized. I was in the hospital 12 days. While i was ill, our Mikey worked his magic on his papabeaky, who went back and forth from visiting me at hospital and keeping up with Mikey’s fluids at vet and meds at home. They quietly supported each other. When papabeaky brought me home, we had 7 more weeks of antibiotics delivered through a pic on my arm. And numerous home medical visits. Our Mikey kept us sane and smiling. And they both kept me alive. The bonds we form are as deep as life itself and beautiful beyond what words can express. ❤️💚🪶🦜🙏
