When the earth mother created this planet,
For man and all creatures
A garden was borne, of her beautiful features
A haven of habitats varied,
nurtured with care
Embraced by the blue green of the sea
the blue greys of sky and air
The deep browns of the mountains
The harsh desert sands
icy whitish extremes
of the vast frozen lands
and now she sits watching
her world slip away
the animals she cherishes
nearing their last days.
