so far

so far apart
a broken heart
and when it heals
life seems surreal.

once

once upon a long lost time
i did not struggle for a rhyme
the words tripped happily
from my lips
onto the keyboard
by dancing fingertips
now things are moving
but far more slow
back then i was grooving
where did all that go?

from this vantage point
the hustle the sounds
the sights the smells
the world,
astounds.

flower's power

flower's power to exist
in today not what was,
or what is missed.
flower's power to survive
each moment a blessing
to be alive.
flower's power of beauty
and grace.
a welcoming heart worn
on its pretty face.

upon his heart he built a wall

upon his heart he built a wall
prickles stickles and that is not all
no feelings go out
no feelings coming in
with all this protuberance
what a lonely life
this has been.

what

what if love would stay forever in bloom
would your heart still  have enough room.

beluga land repost

belugaland

we swim the seas
our belugaland.
we raise our families
we make our stand,
our icy world,
is paradise.
people leave us
alone.
that would
be nice.
we just want to
hunt and play,
to live our lives
the belugaway
we are not cute
objects.
we are living whales,
so when you are in
the arctic,
just say hello
then set sail

Hattree

A silly hat fell off a giant’s head,
So it became a tree instead

one tear

she shed but one tear
copious for all those
for whom no tears
were shed.
but one tear everlasting
for all those unloved,
forgotten, misused, abused
by others,
so rotten.

candelabra

our hearts shine with the glow of the divine
beauty our creator

can we stop...for the heroes of Dday

can we stop to honor
to remember,
not that which drive us apart
but that which draws us
together.

can we stop to honor
those young women and men
who gave their all and more
if not now,
then when.

can we stop and praise those
with us still
those already departed
war the most bitter of pills.

can we stop the hate
the vicious screed
these heroes did not fight for
those ugly misdeeds.

can we stop

then, can we start the love
instead.
and put at last the
evils to bed.

thank you to all who served us well
the tears in our hearts...
no words can really tell

constellation lavender

sweet orbs a sparkle
dancing in the sun
floating imaginations
for everyone.

rose bequest...for Dday

we give to you,
our heros,
a rose bequest
you saw the very worst,
you are our very best.

thank you!

About Me

My photo
i am older than dirt and proud of it!!!! i have managed to incorporate my eternal woodstock nation spirit with the high tech 21st century world. i am an artist/writer, who dabbles in rhyme, and, sometimes, reason. my passions are my husband, who is truly the wind that ruffles my sails, animals rights, yoga...waking up in the morning. i find inspiration in too many things to list, and far too many more to remember. sketching, watercolor painting, poetry and photography are my ways of expressing joy and gratitude. from living with a chronic illness, i have learned the beauty of each day, and treat each as another sun salutation, and another chance.
