the little flower and the sun

a little flower in the wood,
in the darkness, alone
she stood,
while other, more vibrants
busily played.
she cried in sadness
every day.
one day her cries
were heard by the sun,
who smiled upon her
and said,
you are the one.
and sol in all his
glowing mirth,
spread rays of sunshine
upon the earth,
and upon the little flower,
a gift bestowed,
the color of the sun,
and forever,
she glowed

the pride of trees,

we flower,

our green blooms,

even when winter looms,
and of course the fall,

of them all.
