i am but
once upon a moment.
once upon a time.
as superfically
glossed over,
as this rhyme.
and in this depthless
reality,
i am stranded, lost
a world casualty.
a world lost in anger,
hate and fear,
acknowledging the words.
but refusing to hear.
and in that vacuum.
that empty spin,
the cries of the anguished,
lost in the din.

and now

together,
the little ones
rest their heads.
together in comfort,
so ready for bed

the infinite

the infinite is defined,
as that which cannot
be comprehended
by the mind.

for my old friend, inspired by a photograph i just saw

for my old friend,
as we share
your final days.
your love and loyalty,
the greatest praise.
i hold you close,
as you gently respire,
each breath a gift.
from a soul, so very
much higher.
i am thankful for this moment
and all that came before,
my life was saved when
you came in the door.

we did not ask to be born,
neither did you,
we mind our own business,
but it is evil you do.
you humans think that you
