Memorial Day

 On this day we honor those 

Who gave their best

And the rest 

Whose lives were 

Taken on the fields of war 

(If only war could be no more)

They shall forever be remembered 

And honored 

As it should be 

For their ultimate sacrifices 

In the name of liberty

to the occasion 

They rose 

In great valor 

Our heads bowed to 

Those 

In these 24 hours 

Humans and other species 

Engaged 

Until their final moments 

So we would  be saved
