Hugejean among the autumn leaves

 Hugejean among the autumn leaves

As he shimmers

❤️🪶🐦🍂☀️

hugejean is a pigeon friend of ours for a long time. He and others live in a municipal garage near where we live. He has been through a lot. His first wife was Mrs hugejean. Together they had one baby, jr. Mrs hugejean one day never came home and hugejean raised jr as a single dad until me met auntie, who was a caring stepmother.  On jr first fledge day, he was hit by a car. In time auntie and hugejean raised two of their own, palomacy and fancy, who fledged safely and joined a local flock. Sadly auntie too was killed by a careless callous driver.  Hugejean was devastated by all the loss. He slowly warmed up to megapidge and they bonded so beautifully.  Hugejean was clipped by a car and lost his tail and back feathers. But flew quite well to escape more impact with the car.  One of our friends saw this happen. He also injured a toe. We contacted a wildlife group.  We had to evaluate his situation and decide to either leave him with his family and megapidge or bring him to the wildlife rehab center.  The next morning we went out to our usual morning feed and he was there, eating and moving slowly. I decided to feed him several times each day until he grew stronger. The healing process seemed so slow but heal he did. With all his feathers back and a slight limp. Megapidge was incredibly tender and caring towards him. Even his nemesis at the feed, behemoth, showed incredible patience and deference to the wounded boss pigeon.❤️🪶🙏🏼🐦hugejean began to recover from
The physical and emotional trauma and became his bad ass feed bossy self again, running behemoth out of dodge and owning all the food… sharing of course with megapidge. He is not a young pidgie and has slowed down but has a true deep bond with megapidge. We do believe they are starting a new family❤️🪶🐦. Long winded I be but their story deserves far more than this.
