diss appointment

disappointment in others comes from expecting them to adhere to standards  we value highly, and sometimes do not adhere to ourselves. for those of us who are less likely to "slip up", this disappointment can be tempered by realistic expectations and, if that does not quell the dark stirrings of the heart, the act of walking away.

in the final analysis, the greatest disappointments are those that we do to ourselves.
