the lights are flickering

the lights are flickering,
they are very dim.
it does not feel real,
perhaps i am a sim.
stuck somewhere between
wishes,
and what cannot be,
unable to bear my own
sad company.
not knowing why
failures dog me
every step of the way.
unable to fight it,
yet still
willing
to
play.
