to honor

as we sit and debate,
when to leave all those
foreign lands,
our veterans, wait,
for care, respect
and what they deserve
they protected us all,
as they sacrificed
and served,
yes we hate war,
and wish there
were none.
but do not forget
our vets,
whether we lost
or won
