she asked

she asked do you
hear
although there was
nobody near.

he talked

he talked to the velvet
that was her heart.
a place where words
and feelings
are cushioned as
they fall.

even when

even when the road behind
is far longer than the road ahead,
you keep driving.
looking back only to
keep on course.
while you keep
on living.
the main drag

by love

the street where she lives,
by flowers lined.
her love,
his destination.

to find

to find what we were
before the chatter,
mutter.
splatter and
splutter....

waters flow

waters..
in torrents
in drops
in waves
in streams
waters flow
like images
and dreams.

she navigated

she navigate the tall trees
and underbrush
that was her heart's home.

arose

in the corner of her eye,
a rose.
how it got there,
nobody knows.

once upon

once upon
a reminisce.
pretty flower
so like
a
very
first
kiss.

through

through adult eyes, seen.
but the child remains.
the village so green

bullied

new jaunts to old haunts.
never forgotten
childhood taunts.

we are spring snowflakes

we are spring snowflakes

in summer we slowly fall to
the ground that grew us.
but now we dance,
loveliness
in tune with the sun.

secrets told

secrets told
only in the most
secret of places.
at kings point park

little garden

in her heart a little garden
sweet fragrant flower
swaying grasses...
all the colors that quenched
her inner rainbow.

little beauty why do you hide

little beauty why do you hide
your loveliness that emanates
from your soft inside.
are you afraid we will
see yor

vulnerabilities.
too many of us have so
many of these.

art as waters

art as waters,
flowing,
dancing.
to be seen
as they are
by the inner eye
of your soul.

joie

the voice of god is heard
in every being’s heartbeat.
god sees through all
eyes.
all eyes and voices
are god’s children
and when are all
given compassion
god smiles and rejoices.

fanciful flight

fanciful flights
of one's imagination
can travel as far
as their inner universe
allows.

never ask a flower

never ask a flower
the time of day.
they will not know
what to say.
never ask a flower
which way to go...
they are too busy
learning how
to
grow.
never ask a flower
their name or address.
they are who and where
they are,
which is the best,
i guess.

garage eagle dreams

here i sit,
waiting...
on the fragile
vessels that hold
our babies.
the time passes.
i hope that life
for them, here
in our concrete
aerie,
will be sweet.
and longer than
the lives
of some
of my flock
who were mowed down
by big. fast moving
metal fume machines.
we will care for these
precious gifts
until it is their time
to care for their own.
and we hope...
and in our pigeon way,
we pray.

love

hate smolders, festers and rots from inside out.
love warms, touches, soothes, heals and nurtures.
the power of hate is an ugly self delusion that feeds on and
engulfs itself, leaving ash and sorrows in its wake.
love brings more love so the power of love is limitless.

giffed

to be able to love with all one's heart is the greatest gift that one can ever give, or receive.

memorial day

On memorial day we honor those who have served
The army, air force, marines, the navy , the reserves
We honor those who fought so that we could be free
To enjoy our careers, our friends, our families
We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice
So we would not pay the worst possible price
To be enslaved, our freedoms torn
Into a lifeless world our children would be born.
This is not about being in favor of war
We all hate the bloodshed, the pain, the gore
This is about people who did what had to be done
Here is hoping that one day,
Wars will be none.

and this includes our four legged friends,
of loyalty, love and valor
even after the end♥

stand proud stand tall

stand from your roots up
stand proud and tall.
believe in your goodness
and above all...
do not let the dirt and dust
crumple your leaves
and petals.
you are one with universe
in its finest
fettle.

a bushel of thoughts

a bushel of thoughts
collected laughter.
moments cherished
that may grow.
and if not,
they were
and that is all
one has to
know.

spill

spill

this is where i spend my day
sometimes looking for food
or for frolic and play
the water is so dark now
i cannot see a thing
i am so hungry
i cannot move my wings
what happened to
my homeland
where i live and breed
what will happen to
the fish
upon whom i feed
i am feeling so tired
i cannot lift my head
in this muck and this mire
i do not want to be dead.

she dreams

she dreams of purple pompoms
flowers, greens and trees.
when she awakens, she
dreams of more of these.
they sustain her as she
navigates her day.
with vibrant colors
and a state of play.

we dance

we dance
to celebrate
the music that is
within
our souls.

pretty flowers

pretty flowers
what have you
to say...
some words of wisdom
before you fall away.

where beneath

where beneath the convolution
contortions,
confusions...
exists perhaps a most
simple truth.
or was it absorbed
in the cacaphony.

how selfish

how selfish the moment
in its need to be experienced.
remembered...
momentous.

pigeon

i am a pigeon.
a bird.
not vermin not filth
yet i have heard
that some humans
think that we are
pests...
we just want to live our lives,
have our families and nests.
so next time ye of the species
that is so overpopulated...
remember that it is some of you
humans
that are overrated.

we get up

we get up each day
our routines in place
we do what we do
in our personal space.
but if we take that
extra step...
a life we can change
for the better...
so worth the schlepp

namaste,
love and light
peace-filled days
and blissful nights.

in the silent

in the silent power of
caring,
our compassion speaks
volumes.

my heart is fragile

my love i offer
with strings that
are none...
but my heart is fragile
and too easily undone.

nurture

nurture and cherish
never take for granted.
love is a gift
not a given,
enchanted.
ny botanical gardens

phased

we start empty and small
unknowing
we grow a bit.
unknowing a little less
our notions flower.
our knowledge
nourishes us
when
we realize the more
we think we know,
the more we
do not.
and that, in itself,
is freedom.

crag

old reminiscence
crags of time
swallowed up
and regurgitated
in this rhyme.

no one would look

no one would look
beneath her prickly
outer self.
so sad was she
more prickles grew.
so soft and loving inside,
nobody knew.

we float

we float aimlessly
or perhaps that
is our destination.
