pigeon familias

our daily lives a struggle.
we work hard to survive.
we get up every day.
and try to stay
alive.

from three viewpoints

the same i am
but
lost in "mistranslation"
from the turbulent
inner workings of
the unevolved
and twisted.

saging...not aging

the wrinkles and sags i could live without.
but that is not what aging is all about.
it is all about learning to prioritize,
and keeping your eyes on what
is the real prize.
wisdom, compassion...
no more drama...enough.
and gratefully not sweating
the petty, small stuff.

too deep

afraid to merely coast.
afraid to go too
building next door
deep.
afraid to be awake...
afraid to go
to sleep.

for maya angelou

although you have left us
we still hear your voice,
with our hearts, and our minds
in your beauty we
rejoice.
rest in peace on angels wings
as they sing their sweet sounds.
our world is a better place,
because you were
around.

to go any length

if you

if you looked at
the world from
another point of
view,
you might learn
something
valuable and
new.

she dreams of a field

she dreams of a field
sweet cushions of pink,
where in slumber and
silence.
she could gently

her eyes sought soft purples.

on memorial day

On memorial day we honor those who have served
The army, the marines, air force, the navy , the reserves
We honor those who fought so that we could be free
To enjoy our careers, our friends, our families
We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice
So we would not pay the worst possible price
To be enslaved, our freedoms torn
Into a lifeless world our children would be born.
This is not about being in favor of war
We all hate the bloodshed, the pain, the gore
This is about people who did what had to be done
Here is hoping that one day,
Wars will be none.

mist...repost for a friend who lost someone near and dear to her

Mist

to those once with us, who no longer remain,

we feel your loss, and it causes pain.

but we know you are in a place of peace,

with others, just like you,

whose troubles have ceased.

your tenure on earth with us never enough,

yes we go on, but at times it is rough.

could we untangle

could we untangle our high maintenance lives,
and live as our ancestors did.

the saddest spot, the happiest part.
can you define the pigmentation...
when it is all about sensations.
