i love the leaves that make it spring

i love the leaves that make it spring.
the hints of green, when buds
begin.
i love the flowers tentative
grace.
the joy of morning on
a bird's sweet face.
the sun's soft memories.
warm and kind.
as we leave winter
far behind.
view from the garage eagles palace

familias

with the last of winter's cold
nipping at our wings.
our nest is filled
with love and
sings.

sights and heartsounds

living, feeling.
coping,
healing.
in between
worlds rough
garage eagles
and reeling.

in the moment

in the moment,
ire and heat.
time slowly lapses
into defeat.

what

what are we when thoughts dissolve,
protoplasm that calls itself evolved.

the little girl listened

the little girl listened to her inner voice
away
anxiety and fear.
it was only her inner voice
the safety net.
that she chose to hear.
she drifted through life,
behind that double edged
cloud.
on the surface
arrogant and proud.
but beneath the veil
she hid behind,
a broken heart
with wounded
mind.

in the quest for answers

in the quest for answers
more questions.
in the questions not asked.
branches reaching for a space to call home
answers,
assumed.
answers assumed.
erroneous many.
thought/questions again.
for much more than a penny...

i dreamed i saw a bouquet of butterflies

i dreamed i saw a bouquet of butterflies...
as tall as the earth and just as wide.
and everywhere they decided to land.
they brought with them something
wonderful and grand.
planting fields

it is cold outside

it is cold outside
i search for food.
in a world that
can be harsh and
rude.
but thank you all
those who make
it part of their day.
to bring some extra
food my way.

spill

for all creatures caught up in the inevitability of man's mess

this is where i spend my day
sometimes looking for food
or for frolic and play
the water is so dark now
i cannot see a thing
i am so hungry
i cannot move my wings
what happened to
my homeland
where i live and breed
what will happen to
the fish
upon whom i feed
i am feeling so tired
i cannot lift my head
in this muck and this mire
i do not want to be dead.

♥drink from the beauty of life's waters♥

add infinitum

our lives,
twists, turns
the ad infinitums...
contained, but
not controlled,
by our inner grids,
nestled under a blue,
yet cloud-filled sky

if you pray

if you pray do you
genuflect in reverential
awe.
or do you ask a reprieve
from whatever you
saw.
a state of grace in
a rocky climb.
your spirit a wonder
in syncopation
and rhyme.
by the creator's hand. so gentle a touch

all encompassingly
let your inner eye fly
wonderful!
what do you see

her garden is wild.
her garden is free.

baby sloth - repost

i am slow.
for me,
there
is no other
way to go.
i will get there
anyway,
what is the rush
i have all day.
i am a baby sloth,
and i have
much love to
give,
so humans, please
find the patience,

to let me live♥

she took her life...for all who could no longer hold on

she flew so high,
but alone she felt.
the night and its
shadows,
so cruelly dealt.
without the spotlight
and glare,
to drive away her pain.
without the noise and
the moments,
the cold, ice and rain.
those moments under
the smile.
dark clouds behind
her eyes.
the weight of her sorrows
she could no longer hide.
and we who sit here,
blessed to survive,
we cry for all those
who forgot the joys
of just being alive.

contra diction

she wanted to be seen.
she wanted to hide.
all this contradiction,
too hard to
ride.

Thursday, March 13, 2014

we have moments

we have moments where
we can play.
but mostly we work hard to
survive each day.
searching for food.
shelter.
a place to nest.
life is of
great beauty,
and a very hard
test.

dogs

dogs do not politically affiliate.
dogs are happy with what
is on their plates.
dogs do not subscribe to
the voyage of the snark,
dogs wag their tails and
love to bark.
dogs do not do nasty,
or toxic or cruel...
in other words,
dogs TOTALLY rule

and let your

her grandmother's voice

she relived the sad trembles
of her grandmother's voice.
a song borne of circumstance,
and of bad choice.
life passed her by,
as it will do.
and now she sings
like her grandmother,
trembling,
too.

vultures

to the vulture a
terrible fate has
been assigned.
this magnificent bird
misunderstood and
maligned.
this carrion eater
has a huge job
to do,
cleaning up after
all the mes and the
yous.
but man has the most
ignoble distinction
of almost poisoning
this great bird
into extinction.
in this"master plan"
he has allowed disease
to flourish and spread.
when vultures could
be tidying up this
soup instead.
so please everybody
before it is too late,
stand up for these
beautiful birds...
and advocate!

thank you.

shall low

she was afraid to go deeper,
she did not want to feel
all the sad spaces and
loneliness
from which she never
really healed.

she waited for them but they never came

she waited for them
but they never came.
day shifted into night.
she was never the same.
she waited and waited.
moon passed in
the sky.
she kept looking up,
why did they not
try.

we wait

we wait and wait until
the army of the kind,
finally touches the cruel
world and
that world
changes
its mind.

live long love and be loved

live long, love and be loved
every step of the way.
no matter what life
throws out you,
never forget how to play.
let music, joy and whimsy
show you the way,
as you wake up with
gratitude,
for the gift that is
your day.
