all are

all are god’s creatures
on this beautiful earth.
all are loved by our
creator and
are equal in worth.

each flower

each flower is different if
closely you look,
so many sweet chapters,
from our earth mother's
book.

photo taken today

although

although i walk
on this sand alone,
the footprints i see,
are not just my own.
will anyone see mine
when i am
gone.
photo taken thursday at jones beach

eloquent narcissa

she stood alone,
refined and  tall.
in her self-perceived
grace, she
stood above it all.
never able to
connect to the trees
or other flowers.
too in love with her own
beauty and its transient power.
time passed, her petals, older
and withered.
she looked back at her lifetime,
from inside out, she shivered.
what she had missed,
as she bathed
in her own sad reflection,
now relegated to wishes,
regrets and
 her own misdirection.

photo taken, not shaken...but very stirred.

bubble eye

the bubble knows
what lies below.
the bubble waits,
then starts to grow.
with the pebbles
it carelessly flirts,
then in sorrow,
it suddenly
bursts.

photo taken apres beach

i start

i start my flight over
open seas,
skies and water in front
of me.
i do not look down,
nor back at the land.
going forward is
all i understand.

thank you too

i was lost in low,
no way to see,
any future in front of me.
i existed quietly, from day to day,
just barely coping with what came
my way.
and love, forget it
the concept
eluded.
a gift for others, not i,
i sadly concluded.
then you came into my world
and for the first time,
i saw life as more than
jagged rocks to climb.
i saw a reason not just
a life robotic,
love entered the room,
its joy and moments,
chaotic.
and in that still new
feeling, still in awe
of it all.
i thank you so much,
for answering my final
heartcall♥

B U

be you in all its gloriousness,
ignore the toxic dumpsters
and their mess.
tell the naysayers where to go.
follow the light from
your inner glow

those inner rumblings

those inner rumblings,
turned outer mumblings.
the pathways to some
lifestyle tumblings.
some far from profound

and others,
humbling.

those

the netherworlds of vapor and mist,
swirl inside my head.
their smoke filled insinuations,
peppered with waves of dread.
those dark corners navigated,
but still lost in space and time.
to this i am relegated.
some solace found in image
and rhyme.

pteriptalk

laugh a lot,
laugh a little
life is a branch
it is up to you
to whittle.

for monica

he played her like a violin,
he wore her heart like a
second skin.
and after he broke it,
he threw it out.
she did not know
whether to cry
or shout.

memorial day

On memorial day we honor those who have served
The army, the marines, air force, the navy , the reserves
We honor those who fought so that we could be free
To enjoy our careers, our friends, our families
We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice
So we would not pay the worst possible price
To be enslaved, our freedoms torn
Into a lifeless world our children would be born.
This is not about being in favor of war
We all hate the bloodshed, the pain, the gore
This is about people who did what had to be done
Here is hoping that one day,
Wars will be none.

flowers on concrete

game face on,
have to play.
like flowers on concrete,
walls get in
the way.

rules to be broken,
or broken by rules.
real or a token,
we don't learn this
in school.

like flowers on concrete,
rooted in shaky earth.
buffeted by storms,
more than a lifetime's
worth.

trying to climb
on surfaces hostile
and cold,
listening or not
to what we
were/are told.

like flowers on concrete,
where warm does not go.
this is where we are and
how are we expected
to grow.

mindinfestations

thoughts come a calling,
knocking on my mind.
swarming like butterflies,
but neither gentle to me
nor kind.
keeping the notion
of sleep a dream
never  attained,
as the hours pass by...
ventured, but
not gained.

away with words

away with words,
only the
sound...
of a broken heart,
when it starts
to pound

yellow hibiscus

yellow hibiscus,
her grace to aspire
so tender a vision,
as she lifts herself
higher.

conformity is a mallet
find your own color

photo taken...not stirred

dis-couraged

things not going as i wanted them to.
so should i say why bother to do.
is it better to sit here crying,
or pull myself together
and keep on trying.
for that matter,
i will stick with
the latter.

never quit...
no time for that
sh*t

flowers as

flowers as metaphor,
what language do
they speak.
as they stand tall
in the storm,
yet gentle and meek,
what words are they
thinking,
when it is time for them
to go away.
their sweet eyeleaves
closing,
perhaps not
much to say.

image taken

image taken,
to preserve,
the beauty
and wonder
that perhaps
we don't
deserve.

clockflower

do you tell the time by counting every petal.
do you spend those precious seconds working
on your finest fettle.
do you take for granted that which
does not belong to you.
time is its own master and
will do what it will do.

photo taken on last thursday's photo excursion

greens

do you wake up each day,
fresh and new,
or do you wake up with the
shadows that carry you.

backyard edens

you can travel far,
for what you seek,
or listen around you,
and "see" beauty
speak.

photo taken today in courtyard of apartment building

for oklahoma

this is where my house once stood,
this is where i earned my livelihood
this was the school where my children
played.
now some of them have gone away.
this is the street where we
used to walk,
now so many of us stand here,
too stunned to talk.
this is where, in the blink of
a tornado's eye,
a world, now rubble,
has said goodbye.
and this is where,
in spite of all of it,
we will get our lives back
and we will NEVER quit.

once, upon

once upon a planet so blue,
the sun shone brightly,
her job to do.
then darkness fell,
the sun did what she can,
but she was helpless against
the cruelties of man.
so help her find her shining rays,
and show the world
a better way.

clusters in moments

clusters,
in moments,
she finds herself,
serene.
running for the spectrum,
so troubles can't be
seen.

photo taken on the way

king of the garage eagles

i am king of the garage eagles,
lord of all i see.
my job is to take care of
my family.
not so easy when in human company.
as i guard my throne,
it is mine, alone.

red leaves and tear drops

red leaves and tear drops
fall from the sky.
then out comes the sunshine,
and
 soon, they will dry.

Dance on...

dance on one leg,
float on a raft,
love your own laughter,
find time to be

                                         thursday photo expedition

ribbonflowers

flowers, like ribbons,
so pretty as they festoon,
the
bridge between
sadness and joy
in our rooms.
garlands of glory,
telling their own
sweet, fragrant
story♥

                                           another thursday photoplay

what do you

do you see a weed,
or a whimsical
orb,
how much of earth's magic
have you absorbed.

photo taken thursday with new camera

the blackbird in the tree

the little blackbird in the tree,
sang out loud, for company.
wishing for someone to serenade.
alone in that tree, the blackbird
stayed.
but if he had ventured,
(not even far away),
would he have found
someone with whom
he could play?

she reaches for flowers

she reaches for flowers
like metaphor,
with their delicate beings
she opens her door.

nectar

we dance inside petals,
like wings as they
hover,
we dance to the light,with
its
beauteous cover.
we dance to the sky,
to the winds and the
trees.
with our fragrant voices we call out
to the bees.

caverns and chasms

times where creative is stronger
than chasms,
where outbursts of doing
drown out darkened spasms.

tree trunk photo taken today, because

pink roses are read

pink roses are read,
looking for signs.
admire them instead.
it is so good for
heart/mind.

photo taken on early morning mini-stroll

the little flower and the sun

a little flower in the wood,
in the darkness, alone
she stood,
while other, more vibrants
busily played.
she cried in sadness
every day.
one day her cries
were heard by the sun,
who smiled upon her
and said,
you are the one.
and sol in all his
glowing mirth,
spread rays of sunshine
upon the earth,
and upon the little flower,
a gift bestowed,
the color of the sun,
and forever,
she glowed

the pride of trees

the pride of trees,
sometimes we are
tall,
other times we
are beauty,
so small.
in the spring
we flower,
in the summer,
our green blooms,
our colors, our power,
even when winter looms,
and of course the fall,
the brightest pigments
of them all.

photo taken outside, always looking up.

we are here

we are here to try,
we are here to fly,
though in the end,
we say goodbye.

pinks and greens

pinks and greens,
dancing flowers,
not here for long
but living for
every hour.

lines, pink and white flowers

pink and white flowers,
soft springtime hues,
the smooth velvet
surface,
lines and creases
imbued.
the notion of perfect
by which we are driven,
elevated to real beauty
by what our lives
have given.

ivy spills

ivy spills,
jungleland,
forest primeval.
lost in its
own world,
not outside
upheaval.

photo taken today in municipal garage

those silent moments

those silent moments,
where words will not
suffice.
inner torments,
foment.
when they really need
something nice.

hip hip hoor-age

when i look back from my age of 60+ or so,
i think about how the days and time
went slow,
and yet, in the larger pic, they went
too fast.
enjoy each moment, as they do
not last.

from the earth

from the earth,
a tree is born,
once a tiny seed,
a small acorn,
a drifting flower
that came to rest.
when it comes to
building,
mother nature is
the best

do you "see" what you see,
or do you follow the
party line,
are your opinions your
own,
or from someone else's
mind?

my name is mali

my name is mali,
i live alone,
in this zoo.
this is not what

supposed to do.
i have lived here
35+ years,
my only company...
a pool of tears.

wrap me in springtime

wrap me in springtime,
turn what is old into
something new,
wipe away the cobwebs

,
what i alone,
cannot undo.
answer my sorrows,
with summer promises
you cannot keep.
warm transient tomorrows,
where at last i might find
sleep.

petals and cacaphony

petals and cacaphony,
her mind,
in a daze.
chasing each other,
her equilibrium,
hazed.
sleeptime eludes her,
befuddled by the din.
the colors, soft and
muddled.
will not let rest,
in.

flowerpots in the window

flowerpots in windows,
trees embracing
the brick,
verdure sent to
heal
the cold and the
sick
lanterns sure to
flicker,
streets illuminated
sweet, soft light,
shadows
overtaken,
a gentle transition
into night.
