walk gently repost

walk gently
walk gently upon our precious earth,
spread love and goodness
a lifetime's worth
share only what you wish
to receive
be forthright and decent
try not to deceive
avoid those who
by toxicity live
just keep on walking
away, as you forgive
do not look back
the past is done
point those feet forward
a new day has begun.

from here i see a world
that looks both
large and small.

so sweet the time
the velvet touch  of silence
we were the rhyme.

where

where there is kindness.
there is love.
where there is love,
there is life!

the wisdom of the gentle mallet

the wisdom of the
gentle mallet
muted message
pastel palette.
words softly
sent
with a
velvet
hum
say what
is meant
and where
the messsage
comes
from.

remind

we strive for peace
we strive for calm
for sweet release
a gentle balm
as storm clouds gather
...at the fort
our wits would rather
gently comport.

at what point does the concept of ethics awaken from its slumber and shout out
"i'm still here"

once upon a birdie and butterfly

a birdie happened upon
a little butterfly.
he said, oh like me
you can fly.
yes the little butterfly
replied,
we are quite alike
you and i.
then the butterfly
said goodbye.

tearclean

tear,
clean the path
that i may see
from eyes
not sullied
by reason.

as she passes by

as she passes by,
little beauties
festoon
her
path.

from deep

from deep inside
his rotted core,
harsh truths
are found,
prolific.

the sage of age

how to embrace
that which we never
expected
to open our lives
to that which
comes with it.
to see with the wisdom
that comes from layers
of memories,
that float like
dust then
linger
until time
or will
sweeps them
away.

myself, i asked

are you who
you would
admire if
you just met.
or are you waiting
for the who you
aspired to.

oh still

oh still the world
the heartbeats
broken,
defeated.
the endless
tears.
we seek solace
in those pockets
of kindness
hoping to fill
them with love
and surround
the ailing orb
that struggles to
sustain.
as we too soldier on
through the sorrow
and pain.

silent suns

silent suns
the rain
does shine
the clouds they
laugh
up in
the
sky.
the winds
whip wildly
every which way.
weather or not
we start
our
new
day.

circus berserkus repost

Circus berserkus

the circus is in town, what do you see?
as i look out at you, and you look in at me
do you see me as a large, roaring captive toy,
or do you look into my eyes, just know pain, no joy.
do you giggle and point as you mill around my cage,
in my terror annoint as i seethe in rage.
do you not understand that my roar is a shout:
open up the cage door and let me out.

buttermoth

there are so many poems
about a butterfly
poems written by those
who write
better than i.
but would it be considered
a little off,
if
one wrote a poem
about
a little
moth.

it's just an...

they smiled as they pulled on his head.
what if i move it this way,
instead.
they were amused as they twisted
his little arm...
it does not have feelings like us
so we cannot do it harm.
if we do not give it water
nor food to eat,
what will happen then,
will it collapse at our
feet.
if we throw it against
the walls of our ship,
will it stand up
or will it slip.
it runs red liquid now
perhaps it is blood.
we need to find another
this one is a dud.
oh why bother
what are they worth
these things that call
themselves man,
on this little planet
some
call
earth.
so away they flew from wherever they came.
the it on the floor...
they did not even name.

so before you say
it's"
just an animal,
(any animal)
dog, bird, or cat
read the above
and think about that!!!

love is eternity's heart.

whether you

or you are old.

About Me

My photo
i am older than dirt and proud of it!!!! i have managed to incorporate my eternal 60's nation spirit with the high tech 21st century world. i am an artist/writer, who dabbles in rhyme, and, sometimes, reason. my passions are my husband, who is truly the wind that ruffles my sails, animals rights, yoga, the beach, waking up in the morning. i find inspiration in too many things to list, and far too many more to remember. i have added sketching, watercolor painting, and photography to my ways of expressing joy and gratitude. from living with a chronic illness, i have learned the beauty of each day, and treat each as another sun salutation, and another chance. P.S. all painting, poems and photographs are my originals karen Lyons kalmenson
