the illness nibbled
as it lunged at her creativity
trying to take with it
all artistic proclivity

as rain drops fall
the wind is blowing
trees bend down
as they are knowing
she sits at her desk
trying to write
not so easy
she was awake all night
thoughts were racing
in every direction
clouded, muddy
introspection
no resolutions
nor epiphanies
just the usual question
why is it always me?

the sisters of poetry

some of us like to read
others like to create
some grab the lead
while others leave it to fate
we all join our hands
in exploring our souls
life makes such demands
why is it so hard to stay whole?

when "grown ups" have a problem
they cannot/will not fix
little children get caught up
in the mix
adults live with all their stubborness

About Me

My photo
i am older than dirt and proud of it!!!! i have managed to incorporate my eternal 60's nation spirit with the high tech 21st century world. i am an artist/writer, who dabbles in rhyme, and, sometimes, reason. my passions are my husband, who is truly the wind that ruffles my sails, animals rights, yoga, the beach, waking up in the morning. i find inspiration in too many things to list, and far too many more to remember. i have added sketching, watercolor painting, and photography to my ways of expressing joy and gratitude. from living with a chronic illness, i have learned the beauty of each day, and treat each as another sun salutation, and another chance. P.S. all painting, poems and photographs are my originals karen Lyons kalmenson
